Custom Branding Iron Options to Match Your Herd

LVR Livestock Brands offers a wide range of sizes for different use cases. The most commonly used type of face is 3/16”, but ranchers who brand small calves or horses may want to use the 1/8” model. The 1/8” face also works well in hotter climates where cattle’s hides are thinner. We also provide 1/4” faces, but these are typically not recommended. All our fire brands are notched where needed to prevent blotching and ensure a clean, readable brand.

Safe Heating and Usage Tips

Although the traditional method of heating these fire brands is to use an open flame, most modern ranches prefer to use propane furnaces for a number of reasons. These include the fact that propane provides a faster, more consistent heat that speeds up the process and ensures more uniformity in the branding. Additionally, depending on where your ranch is located there may be laws that prevent setting an open fire.
